Intro

The privacy of our users is of paramount importance to Century Business Technologies. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected for OnCore, how the information is used, and how a customer’s information is protected during the use of the OnCore product. The policy is disclosed and used by Century Business Technologies and applies to all applications of OnCore. Below, we describe how we collect, use, and handle your sensitive information when you use the website or mobile app. Century reserves the right to change these policies at any time or add to them, and the dates of these edits and changes will be posted above.

Collecting Information

Server Hosting
The central idea of the OnCore product revolves around the holding of user information on a server. The location of the server depends on the needs of the customer profile. As promised, the customer has the option of hosting their own server, but they would forfeit the ease of service Century provides should any problems arise. Therefore, we recommend that a customer hosts their own server only if they have an experienced Information Technology staff. We also feel the need to mention the potential security risks involved with improper care towards an online storage server.

On the other hand, Century would be happy to host the server on our premises, per request by the customer. The office remains locked at all times of the day, with permission granted to certain personnel for entrance. You rest assured that your hosted server would be safe in our possession. This also allows us to make changes or repairs to OnCore faster. However, the customer retains the right to choose.

Information Available to Century Business Technologies
In setting up OnCore for a customer, Century has access to the names and general information of the users, as provided by the customer. This information is kept private and is only seen by Century personnel. The type of information collected is, in general, the files provided by the customer, the structure of the files, who the files will be shared with, and the names and profile information for the users that will have direct access to the OnCore platform through your company.

OnCore also collects usage information for reporting purposes. This information is not accessed by Century personnel unless requested by the customer. A customer can request reports when a customer wants to know if a user has accessed a file, or when they need the results of a test from the learning management functions of OnCore. This is a particularly useful for companies who need to report testing scores for certification purposes. In these cases, Century can access the reporting information within the platform.

User Information Security
Century does not, and will never, sell any information from a customer’s OnCore for any purpose. This includes selling to online advertising agencies. With OnCore, your information is never shared with any non-goverment third party without the request and express consent of the customer. There are no advertisements in the platform itself, in neither the desktop nor mobile versions. However, users may export certain files from OnCore, such as downloading PDFs, but this is a setting to be determined by the administrators and is at the discretion of the company and its users. Furthermore, Century does not collect information from other sources. We do not obtain information from third parties, like social media services, to combine with OnCore’s saved information for any reason. However, the only exception to this rule is that we abide by the law in the event that the government requests information. (See Law and Order section.)

Team or Company Admins
If you choose to maintain your own OnCore platform and forgo the content management service provided by Century, certain individuals within your organization will be identified as administrators. These individuals will have access to the platform to import necessary files, decide which users will see it, and view the files themselves. This should not be a privacy issue, but we want to make sure our customers understand that these individuals will have full access to the information on the server.

Law and Order
The only time we may violate a user’s privacy is to disclose information to a government entity in order to comply with federal or state requests. This is a general policy shared by online storage services and is not unique to OnCore. We will share if necessary to, a) comply with the law, b) protect any person from death or serious bodily injury, c) prevent fraud or abuse of OnCore or our users, or, d) protect Century property rights. This has never occurred with OnCore. In the unlikely event of this occurring, this policy highlights how Century will proceed.

We abide by the following principles when responding to government requests for our data, including requests for the purpose of national security. 1)Transparency. We will notify the customer of information requested unless otherwise explicitly prevented by law from doing so. 2) Resist All Requests Unless Deemed Necessary. Century believes in the protection and privacy of all users. Should an event arise where Century must provide information to the government, we will only comply if the requests are not overreaching and are for a matter of national security or preventing a crime. Century reserves the right to decide, in certain situations, whether to provide such information.
